No Person shall be admitted into the library unless clean and properly dressed. They should observe the regulations concerning the dress and general rules of good behavior as set forth by college norms
Readers desiring to the use the library shall enter / exit the library using their electronic ID card
Books will be issued only on production of Bar-coded ID card and all the members of the library are entitled to produce their ID card when the library staff demands for checking
Uses of mobile phones are strictly not allowed inside the library
Silence shall be strictly observed inside the library
Personal belongings like files, folders, bags, jerkins, umbrellas, issued books etc are not allowed inside the library and readers are not permitted to keep their belongings in front of the library block. They are strictly instructed to use locker facilities which are provided in the ground and first floor of the central library (For further details contact Sr.Librarian)
The arrangement of chairs and other furniture in the reading area should not disturbed and readers in the library are forbidden from stretching their legs onto the table(s) or other chair(s)
For the benefit of its users, our library follows an Open Access System. Books, current journals and back volumes taken out of the racks shall not be replaced. They should be left on the tables. Well trained library assistants are there to replace them in their proper places
Readers shall be responsible for any damages (like marking, underlining, tearing pages etc) done to the books or other belongings of the library and shall be required to pay 10 times the cost of the damaged book or the damaged property
Readers are allowed to carry only loose sheets of paper(s) with them inside the library for writing purposes
The Loan counter shall be closed half an hour before the closing time of the library
The Sr. Librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership of any member(s) found misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner
BOOKS ISSUES & RETURNS:
The book taken from the library are to be returned within the due date specified on the due date slip pasted in the front page of the book. Otherwise overdue charges will be levied
While borrowing the book, the member must make sure that the book is in good condition and the page numbers are intact
The staff/students are requested to return the books borrowed as and when they are called for by the librarian/ Sr.Librarian
If a book is not returned when due, subsequent book will not be issued
Reference books will be issued only for overnight use
Non-book materials like CDs and DVDs are also issued for overnight use by faculty members only
The borrower will be responsible for any loss caused to the borrowed materials
If a book is lost by the borrower, the borrower must immediately inform in writing to the Sr.Librarian and the same should be traced and replaced within 30 days from the due date.
If the borrower is not able to replace the book for the lost book within 30 days, are liable to pay 10 times the cost of the book. Only the current edition of the book with the receipt will be.
If the book/resource forms a part of a series/volume, the borrower will be charged for the replacement of the entire sets
User must not deface the library books/journals/back volumes and other non-book materials like CD/DVD etc.
Library resources are the institutional assets and belong to all. All users have the responsibility to protect the library resources against wanton and willful-damage, mutilation, theft and other malpractices.
Current Journals/Back volumes are not issued for home reading . They are to be referred at the library only. Users can take photocopies of the required articles.
While accessing the E-resources of the library, proper entries are to be made in the records of the library. Downloading of the information is also permitted
Accessing unwanted and unnecessary information from the internet is strictly prohibited
