PSG Hospitals strengthened its Nuclear Medicine Dept’s infrastructure by introducing advanced diagnostic equipment.

The equipment was inaugurated by Health Minister Ma.Subramanian here on Saturday in the presence of GR Karthikeyan, Chairman, L Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG &Sons’ Charities, Dr. JS Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Super Speciality Hospital, Dr.Balaji, Head, Dept. Of Oncology, PSG Hospitals and Dr.Subba Rao Dean, PSG IMSR.

Nuclear medicine is a specialized area of radiology that uses very small amounts of radioactive materials, or radiopharmaceuticals, to examine organ function and structure, according to John Hopkins.

Dr.P.A.Meivel, Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician, PSG Hospitals said that the two equipment introduced by PSG (Siemens Biograph Horizon – PET CT , Siemens Evo Excel SPECT) are cutting edge diagnostic tools, used for diagnosing the functions of the body and its organs.
