The MBBS program is a competency-based (CBME), integrated curriculum with the educational objectives expressed as competencies which the graduate doctor should have acquired by the end of the program. The curriculum is designed to develop a culture of teamwork, scientific enquiry and lifelong learning in the students which are essential for the effective practice of medicine.

Duration: 5.5 Years (four-and-a-half-year course along with one year of the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI))
Eligibility & Admissions: The National Medical Commission (NMC) sets the eligibility criteria for MBBS admission in India. Only candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements are considered for MBBS admission. Candidates found ineligible at any stage of MBBS admission will have their candidature cancelled. Academic qualifications: To secure MBBS admission in India, candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognised board.
Subjects studied: To pursue an MBBS course, students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their class 11 and 12.
Minimum marks required: For MBBS admission in India candidates must score at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. For SC, ST, and OBC category candidates, the minimum marks required for MBBS admission are 40%.
Age: Aspirants should have attained the minimum age of 17 years for getting admission to MBBS in India. The upper age limit for MBBS admission is 25 years.
The course comprises of 3 phases. In Phase I, the students are taught Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry over a span of one year. Phase II has been scheduled for 18 months and includes Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine. AETCOM modules has been implemented across various phases as mandated by NMC
The final phase is of 2 years duration and subjects such as Community Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery and Obstetrics &Gynaecology are covered.
Graduates are awarded the MBBS degree on successful completion of the 5.5-year program and passing a comprehensive Exit Examination and compulsory rotating internship course.
ICT Enabled Classes: Our class rooms are Fully equipped with Wi-Fi and audio-visual system with live video capturing system. The Student Management System, LMS Module allows students to access the class presentations, participate in an online quiz during the class and submit self -directed and case-based Learning assignments.
Simulation Centre: Centre for Clinical Simulation & Research is a state-of-the-art learning centre for the undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and paramedical students, as well as the faculty. The CCSR is equipped with sophisticated adult and paediatric task trainers, and also full body nursing, trauma & resuscitation mannequins. These help in learning clinical skills, which includes resuscitation in cardiac arrests and poly trauma management. Several invasive procedures can be practised. Birthing mannequin is an additional teaching tool to train delivery skills and new-born resuscitation.
Laboratories: The PSG Hospitals , a teaching hospital is supported by very well-equipped, modern labs for Clinical Pathology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. These labs are equipped with some of the latest fully computerized state of the art equipment’s which ensure accuracy and dependability of the investigations done.
Library: PSG IMS & R Central Library is mainly committed to provide physical as well as virtual access to books, journals and other materials to the Students and Faculty. The collection of Central Library in the area of Health and Other Allied Health Sciences is very strong. The collection comprises mainly books, thesis, current journals, back volumes of journals, CDs, online databases, online journals etc. The collection is used by the Faculty, Students and Research Scholars.
Clinical Exposure: PSG Hospitals, 1470 bedded teaching hospital, one of the largest in the region with World class infrastructure and latest equipment complimented by a highly competent team of faculties. The hospital has community outreach programs for additional clinical Experience to students.
